Destiny's Fire - Trisha Wolfe Destiny's Fire was a mix of future, paranormal, and adventure, along with an extra spoonful of romance. I loved how all the themes were balanced, to appeal to a wide range of readers. The protagonist, Dez, was kick butt!, she had awesome powers, a great set of friends, and an unexpected love interest.

I went into the story thinking i had it all figured out from the first couple of chapters, that I knew how it's going to end, but I was pleasantly surprised with the ending. The author makes you think you finally know how its going to end in one chapter, and in the next one, poof, your theory is out the window. I love novels that keep me guessing, so this was a plus for me.

The only problem I had with the novel and the protagonist in general was her indecisiveness; yes she has awesome powers, but she's too scared to use them. Yes she likes this guy, but.. she doesn't want to hurt the other guy's feelings and ends up leading him on. It's like her decisions always make her end up in the worst possible scenario.

I wished I had gotten to know some other characters more, such as Jace and his siblings. Yes they're always with Dez but I just wished we had a chance to read about the backstory of their family. Other than that, I would say that the author has done a marvelous job at keeping me hooked and on the edge of my seat throughout the whole novel. I'm also very excited to find out that there will be a second book to conclude this amazing story!
